Zimbabwe’s Vice President, Cde Kembo Mohadi, has arrived at Shonganiso Mission in Masvingo to officiate at a major community development initiative, including the groundbreaking of a new girls’ hostel and the commissioning of a state-of-the-art digital skills training classroom block.

The event also features an anti-drug and substance abuse awareness campaign aimed at curbing rising youth addiction rates across the country. As part of the outreach, local villagers are receiving free medical care through the Presidential Emergency Medical Scheme, bringing essential health services to underserved rural communities.

Shonganiso Mission, established in 1956 by the late Bishop Rungano Jonas Mudadirwa Zvobgo, houses a primary and secondary school, a clinic, and a church. The African Reformed Church, which oversees the mission, is now under the leadership of Professor Rungano Zvobgo as the Presiding Bishop.

The new infrastructure and campaigns are expected to boost education, technology access, and public health in Masvingo while addressing social issues such as drug abuse among youths, aligning with Zimbabwe’s national agenda for community empowerment and rural development.
