The UK Coordinator of the Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement, Adebayo Brown, has urged leaders of the Obidient Movement and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to prioritise grassroots mobilisation and preparations for the 2027 general elections rather than engage in internal political disagreements.
Brown made the call amid tensions between the OK Movement, the NDC Presidential Campaign Council and the Obidient Movement over the organisation and coordination of support for Peter Obi’s 2027 presidential ambition.
He accused the Obidient Movement Coordinator, Moses Paul, and the NDC Campaign Council’s Director-General, Ibrahim Abdulkarim, of allowing disagreements to distract them from their responsibilities. He urged them to strengthen grassroots structures, coordinate supporters and focus on voter mobilisation. Punch Newspapers+1
Brown also questioned claims that Obi and his proposed running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, had distanced themselves from the OK Movement, arguing that such positions should be based on clear and verifiable communication.
The NDC Presidential Campaign Council dismissed Brown’s comments as a distraction, saying it was focused on its campaign activities. A media aide to Moses Paul also stated that the Obidient Movement coordinator was not a member of the OK Movement. Punch Newspapers
Brown maintained that the groups were not enemies and called for cooperation, saying their priority should be strengthening political structures and mobilising Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.
