The Global South Media and Think Tank Forum China-Africa Partnership Conference will take place this Thursday and Friday, bringing together over 200 representatives from 160+ media outlets, think tanks, and government institutions across China, 41 African countries, and the African Union. The event aims to explore strategies for reforming global governance and enhancing China-Africa cooperation under the theme: “Reforming Global Governance: New Roles and Visions for China-Africa Cooperation.”

During the forum, participants from Global South nations will engage in in-depth discussions on key topics, including China-Africa commitments to global governance reform, actions to revitalize the Global South, and promoting global civilizational exchange. Attendees will also take part in a cultural exchange event between China’s Hunan Province and African partners, highlighting the growing people-to-people and media collaboration.

The conference will feature the release of a think tank report titled “Jointly Building a New Model of Global Leadership — Work Together in Pursuit of a More Just and Rational Global Governance System”, as well as the launch of the Global South joint communication partnership network, dubbed “United in Heart, Path and Action — 2026 China-Africa Partnership Empowerment Action Plan.”

Jointly organized by Xinhua News Agency and the African Union, the forum seeks to deepen exchanges and cooperation between media and think tanks, amplify the principles of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future, and position the Global South as a stabilizing force for peace, open development, constructive global governance, and cross-cultural learning.
