The Kremlin has said that matters related to a reported new fiscal fund are still under discussion, responding cautiously to a Reuters report on plans to channel additional revenues into a dedicated state mechanism.

Speaking to reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that while various proposals are being considered, no final decisions have been made and the details are “currently being worked out.” His comments suggest the initiative remains at a preliminary stage within the government.

The reported fund is believed to be linked to managing Russia’s growing fiscal needs, particularly as the country continues to balance increased military spending with broader economic stability. Analysts say such a mechanism could be designed to redirect windfall revenues, including those from energy exports, into targeted state priorities.

The discussion comes as Russia navigates ongoing financial pressures from sanctions and wartime expenditures, prompting authorities to explore new tools for budget management and revenue allocation.

Officials have not disclosed a timeline for finalizing the proposal, but the Kremlin’s response indicates that internal deliberations are ongoing, with further clarity expected once key parameters of the fund are agreed.
