The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed that every promotion within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is not just a change in rank but a powerful symbol of trust, discipline, and national commitment.
Speaking while congratulating Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) recently promoted with effect from 1 September 2025, the Air Chief described the elevation exercise as a major milestone in strengthening the Force’s intelligence, operational resilience, and readiness to defend the nation.
“With every promotion, we build a smarter, more resilient, and more dedicated Air Force,” Air Marshal Aneke stated, emphasizing that the 2025 NCO promotion exercise was transparent, merit-driven, and anchored on professionalism.
He charged the newly promoted officers to see their new ranks as both an honor and a higher call to serve. “Promotion is not just about rising in rank; it is about rising to greater expectations,” he said. “You have earned this through hard work and sacrifice. Now is the time to give even more to your country and to the Service.”
Air Marshal Aneke highlighted his leadership approach centered on motivation, mentorship, and morale, stressing that an inspired and well-trained force translates into sharper operations and smarter decisions. He added that NAF’s ongoing reforms are designed to enhance training, welfare, and career progression, thereby nurturing the next generation of military leaders.
As the new ranks take effect, he urged personnel to wear them with humility, responsibility, and renewed dedication, embodying the professionalism and patriotism that define the Nigerian Air Force.
