Estonia has reported that a drone originating from Russia entered its airspace and struck a local power station, according to national broadcaster ERR.

Officials said the incident occurred near a critical energy facility, causing localized damage and temporarily disrupting electricity supply in the surrounding area. Emergency crews were dispatched to secure the site and assess the full extent of the impact.

Estonian authorities have launched an investigation into the drone’s origin and trajectory, emphasizing the seriousness of the breach given ongoing regional tensions. Early indications suggest the drone crossed the border from Russia, but further analysis is underway to determine whether it was part of a deliberate operation or an unintended incursion.

The attack highlights vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure amid heightened security concerns in the Baltic region, where Estonia and neighboring countries remain vigilant against potential threats from Russian military activity.

ERR reports that authorities are coordinating with security agencies to enhance monitoring and air defense measures, aiming to prevent similar incidents in the future. Officials have also called for calm among residents while investigations continue.
