Burkinabe President Ibrahim Traoré has instructed his cabinet to reduce departmental expenses, redirecting the savings toward critical infrastructure projects to improve citizens’ lives. This directive, issued during a flag-raising ceremony on November 4, seeks to prioritize essential services like clean drinking water and food security.

“Access to drinking water is still not guaranteed for all in Burkina Faso,” President Traoré remarked, underscoring the government’s responsibility to address these urgent issues. “We are also committed to securing food sovereignty. With so many challenges ahead, every cost-saving measure matters.”

President Traoré’s order calls for each ministry to review its expenditures, redirecting resources toward public welfare amid Burkina Faso’s ongoing efforts to address infrastructure gaps and bolster essential services for its people.
