Emirates Says Iranian Nationals Barred From Entering or Transiting UAE

Dubai based airline Emirates has announced that Iranian nationals are currently not allowed to enter or transit through the United Arab Emirates, according to an update on its website and industry reports.

The restriction applies to passengers traveling on Emirates flights and reflects a broader tightening of travel rules amid escalating regional tensions linked to the conflict involving Iran.

Some reports indicate that limited exemptions may exist for specific categories of travelers, such as holders of special residency permits, though details vary between airlines and have not been fully clarified.

The move comes as Gulf countries, including the UAE, respond to heightened security concerns following missile and drone attacks in the region. Authorities have introduced stricter controls on travel, residency, and cross border movement as part of broader precautionary measures.

Analysts say the decision highlights the growing impact of geopolitical tensions on civilian travel and aviation, with airlines increasingly adjusting policies in response to security risks and government directives.

The situation remains fluid, and passengers are being advised to check with airlines and relevant authorities for the latest travel guidance before making plans.
