Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has reaffirmed the deep-rooted and ever-strengthening ties between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, following the arrival of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the northern coastal city of New Alamein. The two leaders held high-level discussions on Monday evening after President Sisi personally welcomed the Emirati leader at Alamein International Airport, highlighting the warmth and strategic importance of the bilateral relationship.

The visit underscores the unwavering cooperation between Egypt and the UAE, two nations that have consistently stood side by side in matters of regional stability, economic development, and joint investment projects. According to a statement from the Egyptian presidency, President Sisi emphasized that the relations between Cairo and Abu Dhabi are not only historic but also built on mutual trust, shared visions, and a common commitment to advancing prosperity in the Arab world.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s arrival in Egypt comes directly after his state visit to Angola, during which the UAE signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement with Luanda. His stop in Egypt further demonstrates the UAE’s determination to expand its diplomatic and economic engagement across Africa while reinforcing its already strong ties with key regional allies like Egypt.

The discussions between President Sisi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed are expected to cover a wide range of strategic issues, including economic cooperation, investment opportunities, security coordination, and efforts to foster peace and stability in the Middle East and North Africa. The UAE has long been one of Egypt’s most important allies, providing substantial support in infrastructure development, renewable energy projects, real estate investments, and financial assistance that has helped bolster Egypt’s economy over the years.

This latest visit is seen as another powerful signal of the brotherly relations between the two nations and their commitment to maintaining close coordination in political, economic, and cultural spheres. With Egypt being a pivotal player in North Africa and the UAE continuing to establish itself as a global economic hub, the strengthening of their bilateral ties promises to bring mutual benefits not just to the two countries but also to the wider Arab region.

Observers note that both leaders share a vision of fostering stability, growth, and resilience in the region, and their partnership continues to serve as a cornerstone for regional diplomacy. The high-profile reception in New Alamein stands as a testament to the importance Cairo places on its relations with Abu Dhabi and the enduring friendship that has defined Egyptian-Emirati ties for decades.
