Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has congratulated Professor Nentawe Yilwatda on his appointment as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing his emergence as both timely and crucial for the ruling party’s consolidation ahead of key political milestones.

During a visit to Yilwatda’s residence in Abuja, Tuggar praised the appointment as a strategic move to strengthen the APC’s internal structures and foster unity across its ranks. “On behalf of my office and constituents, I warmly congratulate the new National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress. Your appointment comes at a crucial moment in our democratic journey one that requires steady hands, vision, and consensus-building to consolidate the party and ensure success at all levels,” Tuggar said.

He expressed confidence in Yilwatda’s ability to navigate the political landscape, build bridges across regions, and reinforce the APC’s policy-driven identity. Tuggar, a founding senior member of the ruling party and key figure in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, reaffirmed his support for the new chairman and urged all stakeholders to rally behind his leadership.

“This is a time for renewed commitment, discipline, and collective purpose. With the right leadership, we can deepen democratic governance and deliver on the promises made to the Nigerian people,” he added.

Professor Yilwatda assumes office at a critical period as the APC works to reposition itself and prepare for upcoming electoral contests, including local government elections.
