U.S. President Donald Trump said it is possible he would hold talks with Iran, according to comments he made during an interview with Fox News.

Trump indicated that negotiations could happen depending on the terms, suggesting that diplomacy remains an option even as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high. He also said he had heard that Iranian officials might be interested in discussions.

Despite leaving the door open to talks, Trump expressed skepticism about Iran’s leadership, particularly its new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei. Trump said he does not believe the Iranian leadership can “live in peace,” reflecting continued distrust between the two countries.

His remarks come as the United States and its allies are engaged in escalating military tensions with Iran in the Middle East. Trump also referred to recent U.S. military operations against Iranian targets, describing the results as way beyond expectation.”

The comments highlight the complex strategy currently shaping U.S. policy toward Iran. While military operations and strong rhetoric continue, Trump has suggested that diplomatic negotiations could still be possible if Tehran agrees to acceptable conditions.

Analysts say the possibility of talks could play an important role in determining whether the current conflict escalates further or moves toward negotiations aimed at reducing tensions.
