Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has joined African leaders in congratulating Donald J. Trump on his recent election as the 47th President of the United States. The Nigerian presidency expressed confidence in Trump’s potential to advance global peace and prosperity amid pressing challenges.

“President Tinubu looks forward to strengthening the ties between Nigeria and the United States amid the complex challenges and opportunities of the contemporary world,” read a statement from the presidency, adding that the Nigerian leader anticipates that Trump’s leadership will contribute meaningfully to peace and economic growth worldwide.
