The ceremony signals the Ambassador Haidara’s official commencement of duty as Nigeria’s Principal Representative to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Ambassador (Dr.) Mohammed Idris Haidara seized the occasion to convey the best wishes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to His Majesty the King and affirmed that Nigeria and the Netherlands share a relationship built on mutual respect, blossoming trade, and a shared commitment to multilateralism. He established that from agriculture to renewable energy, to maritime security, and the pursuit of justice, the relationship has been on a mutually beneficial trajectory of sustainable growth and development. He stated that his posting to the Hague by President Tinubu was aimed at deepening these ties, expanding economic partnership, and strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two friendly Nations.

Leading up to the ceremony, Ambassador Haidara was conveyed to the Noordeinde Palace on a Royal Carriage, escorted by the Royal Chamberlain and horsemen from the Royal Netherlands Mounted Police. A military band was stationed at Noordeinde Palace, which gave an honorary salute of four drum rolls and rendered the national anthem of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, followed by an inspection of the guard by the Ambassador. This was succeeded by the formal presentation and a brief bilateral discussion between His Majesty the King and the Ambassador.
