The internet is buzzing after a viral video of actress Regina Daniels in tears sparked concern and controversy about her marriage to Nigerian senator and businessman Ned Nwoko. In the video, the Nollywood star appeared visibly shaken, saying she could no longer tolerate what she described as constant violence in her home.

Barely twenty-four hours after the clip went viral, Senator Ned Nwoko publicly addressed the situation, describing his wife’s actions as “drug-influenced” and “an unprovoked carnage.” In a lengthy statement shared through his verified Instagram handle on Sunday, the Delta-born lawmaker accused Regina of battling substance and alcohol abuse, which he claimed was the root cause of the crisis in their marriage.

“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety,” Nwoko wrote.

He alleged that in recent weeks, Regina had engaged in violent outbursts, destroyed household property, and assaulted some members of his staff. According to him, her behaviour had become increasingly erratic, forcing him to seek medical and professional help for her rehabilitation.

The senator maintained that he has never been violent toward Regina and that he remains deeply concerned for her wellbeing, stating that he offered her the option of rehabilitation either in Abuja or abroad.

Meanwhile, Regina’s brother, Sammy West, has come out in her defense, accusing Nwoko of domestic abuse and intimidation. His public comments have fueled an already heated online debate, with fans and colleagues of the actress calling for transparency and urging both parties to seek peaceful resolution.

The unfolding drama has left Nigerians divided. Some sympathise with Regina, seeing her as a victim of emotional distress, while others believe Nwoko’s claims point to a deeper struggle that requires medical attention and privacy.

As of now, Regina Daniels has not released an official statement addressing her husband’s accusations. However, close associates say the actress is safe and surrounded by family members.

The incident, which unfolded between Saturday and Sunday, has once again drawn attention to the private lives of celebrity couples and the intense public scrutiny that often follows them. Whether this controversy will lead to reconciliation or further separation remains to be seen, but one thing is certain — the Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels saga has become one of the most talked-about celebrity stories of the year.
